Hi Bob Burgess here.

Wow!!! great site this is folks, wish it were around when I was into rodding back in the 80's, probably would have made building my car so much easier. This visit is more of a nostalgia thing for me, nice to see lots of the folk I know of still into the rodding scene in particular Mick Tebbs(Candyman). So sorry to read about the sad losses of some other guys who were around in the 80's. No doubt I will be posting more messages at some point.:)

Hi Bob, your old 27 came up for sale about 18 -24 moths ago in Denmark ,still looked as good as when you sold it. Still think you should have taken the offer of a swap for my Beetle :)

Hi Kev cheers for the reply, just read your intro, boy have you been through the mill!! Main thing is that you're still here matey and, by the sound of it, enjoying yourself!
Where did you see my old car advertised, I know that a guy called Michael who owned it got it back on the road because it spent a long time in an antique gun dealers showroom. This guy Michael runs his own garage/rod shop somewhere in Denmark though not sure where.
Yes i remember your Beetle, nice piece of kit that was.
Regards,

Bob.

Your old motor showed up on the old NSRA forum, was lot dearer than you sold it for though :(

If you remember that Denmark trick you may remember I was wearing sunglasses all the time even to breakfast ! Nothing to with being cool but bright yellow eyeballs staring at you over the breakfast table isn't a good start to the day, LOL ..and that was almost a year before the kidneys finally jacked in. Like you say ,still here ....20th anniversary of my first transplant this year.I've tried my best to use the time well.

Are you building , or driving anything interesting at the mo ? What you been doing with yourself all these years ?

Hi Kev this is what I'm driving now. It is a WRX300 with the Prodrive Performance Pack. I bought it new in August 2005, love it to bits!! I am still teaching at a high school doing Design & Technology, love that too on a good day!! I'd like to build something else but time is against me, despite what folk think my job doesn't finish at 3pm every day!! Maybe one day I might be tempted to just buy a rod, who knows.

Bob, buying a good ready built rod is the quickest and cheapest way back in and you get to keep the Scooby for when you want a REAL hot rod !! PMSL I wonder how long before I get told off ?
