Any chance of a picture? I have various solenoids from scarp yards in my shed, but without a picture I can't compare them.
What are you trying to do with it ,might be able to point you in the right direction then ?Probaly best if you start a new thread in tech section.
Hello
The solonoid opens my Pop boot lid but its broke, the part is of a Ford Siarra. I have the part number and a pic but I can never down load them onto the site even after all the help that you give out.
I would be able to mail it to you e mail address?
Lennon, many thanks.

Paul, this looks nothing like any of the solenoids I have. I looks to be a very rebust unit, mine are all quite flimsy.

Hi
That looks identical to the ones we used to supply to Fords by the truck-load when I worked at Warner Electic, we had initially supplied them when they were still building the MkV Cortina, and we also stamped the Ford logo (wish I'd borrowed the stamp tooling!).
You should be able to find an equivalent 12vdc Solenoid at places like Edmundsons or City Electrical, Farnell, or RS.
Warner Electric got taken over by Dana (yes the axle manufacturer) some years ago, and now are not represented in the UK.
But remember it'll have a duty cycle of 5-10% (as it will only be on for a short burst).
If you have any problems getting it i'll try to point you in the right direction.

Hi
I have tried every where to get one of these units? the units that are supplied from Rs and the other electrical outlets are not strong enough to work the catch on the boot! I have ordered 4 and sent them all back.
They call it a open coiled unit.
Thanks for the pics Klunk, one day I will learn how to post them myself???
