Hi,

I'm Ian Ryan (full name added by moderator). Now the proud ( except when things keep going ping and puffing out smoke ) owner of a '58 Pop. In truth it's half rodded, '58 body with a pinto engine, Jaego chasis and Austin/Ford running gear so more a '58 on paper.

I've always been into bikes, trikes and chops up until now. As I reach my mid thirties I thought I should grow up a bit ( thats a laugh ) and get a car. Something with two seats etc, hence the Pop.

The scene around the Notts area seems a bit limited compared to the bike side, which is a shame. But I'd rather be riding round in a rat Pop than a Ka any day.

And I apologise now for all the daft questions I'm likely to ask!:D

Theres plenty of knowledgable people on here and a good tech section, so ask away.
The Pop forum here has a lot of guys with the same interests as you so drop in there and say `Hi`.

Welcome aboard Dax . Which part of Notts are you in? If you are near Ilkeston you could try the MFN on a Wednesday night , Rods & bikes there I'm told. Or hop over the boarder & join us.

I'm also in a bit of a fix, any idea where I can find a volt regulator to my fuel/temp gauge? Mine appears to be shot and I could do without buying new gauges just now.

The gauges are 6v but not from a Pop ( I think ) or at least not from my Pop. It's a Smith gauge from something in the family but can't be more precise than that, fuel at the top half and engine temp in the bottom half.
The fuel gauge is the worry, don't like playing guess the gallons with a two litre engine.

That sounds like the part. About an inch long, half inch wide and deep with a plate on the back to put a bolt through.
