Hi, all. My real name is Stewart McPherson but I’ve chosen SaltFan as an alias because I’ve always been fascinated with the Bonneville Salt Flats and Land Speed Record attempts: this year will be my first of hopefully many pilgrimages to Utah and the Flats.
I’m another Kiwi/New Zealander to join this forum, but I’m starting to consider myself ‘British’, having been here nine years now.
My interest in rodding probably stems from reading my older brother’s magazines as a youngster. However, my motor vehicle history is generally centred around old scooters and motorcycles, mainly as a result of being poor! The nearest I’ve been to actually owning a rod or custom is the car I have now – a ’62 Impala, in factory Right Hand Drive! If anyone knows more about RHD Chevs that came into this country, or knows where I can find more information for myself then please feel free to get in touch. The car’s all original for now, which I quite like.
All going to plan I should make it to a few shows, parts fairs and drag meets, so will run into some of you there.
Cheers!
