Me, tonight at least. Tomorra, about noon, I'll set off for Bert Haddock's 'Ranch' in deepest Lincolnshire, cos, I believe, he's got Real Ale & BBQ lined up along with rides around in his Flatty T. Sunday morning, 53 mins due south of the 'Haddock Ranch', is Old Warden. That's where we're headin'! :D
saved all my money up to go and see Matallica in Paris next week, so the rod runs are being missd out this month

Offer of the lift is still there Kev, let me know, might take bigger car if lots of spares space needed anyway.
Saw the POS outside yours this pm, roof down as well!
Had every intention of going this morning with the rest of my club, then my 10 year old daughter reminded me she was off to Switzerland with the Guides at 4.30pm Saturday & that I'd promised to wave her off. I hate going to shows for the day as I feel I've missed out & it's the same amount of juice as going for the weekend.
It's all worked out pretty well though as tomorrow morning a mate's coming round to help me put up the pre cast garage that I got for free last summer. It's been a very long time coming but for the first time ever, I'm finally going to have a place to work on a car in the dark or when it's raining, I'm still finding it hard to take in! It couldn't come at a better time either as I can't remember the last time I was this fired up about getting on with stuff. I best hurry up as it's only 37 weeks 'til Wheeldays [told you I was fired up!].
Al, I think garages are far more important than cars. To get your own is a milestone. I hope it's within walking distance of your backdoor? I've an 18 mile round trip to my 'Renter'. I pray each night for a garage of my own. 'Coupla strip lights, double sockets and a solid bench, pillar drill & vise. It's all I ask of life!:)
I'm striping out the en-suite in the morning, going over to eeb43's in the afternoon to get an axle, going shopping for some food for the week, then sleep and up and out to old warden to have a nose around at some cool cars, have a chat with some mates and steal some ideas on sunday.

Skint.....Got layed off 6 weeks ago and no work since, really gutted as old warden is my favourite, even though its nearly 500 mile round trip from down here in sunny devon, i love the drive. Still some thing will turn up....proberly the baliffs.

Was planning on the weekend but:
1/ Cost: £80 for myself and the wife to get in. £75 for a motel (I'm too old to do the camping thing). £25 to put the dogs in kennels. £30 on fuel.....Total=£210 !!
2/ Dont have a rod right now (kinda feel a bit left out)
3/ End of the month and pay hasnt gone in the bank yet.
4/ Saving to build a garage and that would be a big lump cash that could go towards that.
So its just gonna be on the Sunday for us.
Was unemployed for a while when pre-reg opened. Working again now but a little more focused on stuff I have to do (house). Never really been a fan of Old Warden anyway.

I went on Friday, paid for the weekend and came home again on Saturday morning. Thought I'd go and try and re motorvate my lost enthusiasm for this scene which has all but fizzled out over the last couple of years due to the in fighting and politics.
Unfortunatly, my over excitable rescue lab pulled me off my chair in the catering area on Friday evening and dragged me around a bit much to the amusement of those around. Had to sleep in the car a bit bruised as the Mondeo was the only place Benny would settle. Due to the Karaeoke next door and my dogs wish to join in with an Elvis inpersonations I did not have a good nights sleep. Came home Saturday morning unfortunatly unable to get any motorvation back from my short stay. Got a nice coffee mug though and have put this post up after not posting on here, uk hot rods or any other custom forum for ages.
Thought about taking the Deuce or Pop out for a blast.....but it's still just a thought. How do you get your motorvation back when looking at your Rods just reminds you of all the bad stuff? Any advice appreciated.

Bad stuff goes away when, you get behind the wheel or someone drives you.
Hope that helps.
Im happy to take you aout ofr a spin in the t.
Keep smiling guys and think of happy stuff.
Not what life throws at all of us these days.
I went down today for six hours, had a good look about, but gods teeth it was hot. I was sweating like a pig, my daughter was on the verge of heat stroke, and between her dragging me on fair ground rides and me trying to see all the cars it got to be a pretty tiring day.
It didn't seem very crowded, plenty of room to manouver, no massive queues for food/drinks etc. I didn't get to browse as many venders as I'd liked to have done, as the little 'un was not into it, but, I spent some money, collected my Vega steering box, (ta Mate) and took a few photogs. Good day out.
