Never heard about this show.......

Looks like a great place to hold the Fun Run, but probably a bit on the expensive side.

Looks like a bargain to exhibit there , Inside £225 , Marque £150 , and outside £10 . Things have certainly changed from when you were payed to show your vehicle and the organisers made money from the visitors ! Or have I read it wrong and thats what they pay you ???

We were at Farnborough Air Show the other week where they were advertising this show, it the first one I think, has'nt been held before. Any one been asked to go?

It looks and sounds like the guy who puts on a lot of the American car shows, Harry Tune (I think thats how you spell it) so it will be a new show, probably why you/we have never heard of it before Martin, sounds a bit like the guys in the early days who tried to make a few bucks with the indoor shows

The prices are for the indoor part of the show and all the spaces have been taken up ..they are still having an outdoor show with weekend camping etc ...

You won't pay to show your car, but you do that anyway at any show you go too!

At runs you are showing to give the public something to look at and their entry money subsidises your entry price. An indoor shows you are ( generally) making a profit for the promoter.

That show was hosted by others not the guy who is doing the custom show.

I know the chap organising the customshow very well, he recently imported some very nice classic american muscle stuff.

Ed, you make a valid point. When mine is finished if I have the time I'd take it to most places to show it off but there is no way I'm putting £££k's into it then whacking out another £225.oo for someone else to make a buck from.

Perhaps another way forward would be all entrants / participants equally split a % of the gate. That way the promoter does not loose £'s invested, the vehicle owners don't have to pay to display their own cars 'n' trucks and if the promoter has done their job properly then the event will be a success, everyone wins.

What do you get for your money, jsut to park up or something else?

Went to the Sins show last year, run by the Scrapers, and the promoter paid for our hotel and gave us some gas money. The show was blinding.
I think this promoter's got it a*se about face.

Harry Tune is quite prominently mentioned on the website as is AACI. It certainly implies he is part of the organising team.

Drakie, the show is owned by a chap called Paul Miles , he will have others helping run it but believe me he is the man behind it.

The show is owned by shorland oaks enterprises, Pauls house is shorland oaks!

Ok here we go, ive just this minute spoken to Paul who at present is in Portugal BUT he said that if anyone wants to show their rod he will sort something out for me so we can forgo the £200+ charge, he is very happy to accommodate anything space wise and is more than happy to make space if some wish to organise a cruise or make the whole thing into some sort of run, if you guys want to put something together and let me know what you want (what you wish to show and how many , cruise, parking space , whatever) i,ll sort it, Paul and i go back a very longggggggggg way and he,s always been a true gent, he is also a man of his word.
