If you're off to Vegas here's a couple of places to visit - Counts Kustoms, 2714 S Highland Dr, corner of Presido in an industrial estate and if you're into buying CDs go to Zia Records, there's 2, one at 4503 W Sahara and one at 4225 S. Eastern Ave, well worth it...!

Another good place to spend an hour is the Auto Collection on the 5th floor of the parking lot at the Imperial Palace - it's free and there are some interesting motors there (most for sale too just in case you win a few buck at the tables!).

Great place for a Holiday, don't forget the dirt track and oval racing there too.
Also go to http://www.fabulousracers.com/ not a big place and hard to find, but very interesting.
Also if you take the Wife / Girl friend, or you just a fat bloke like me, then the Chocolate Factory is worth a visit.
The NASCAR Cafe is worth a look too.
Been there lots of times, will go again someday.

Has anyone been to either:

Welcome Criusin' for a Cure - Costa Mesa (Sept 27th)

or

Coronado Speed Festival ( Sept 27th and 28th)

I should be in the area for either, just wondered if they are worth a visit

Cheers

Chocolate factory is top of the list [no guessing who found that one eh Mrs M]
Mind you with my voluptuous curves, the aroma on our way back from Hoover would probably direct if she who must be obeyed had not found the place :)

So-Cal speed shop on west desert inn rd is good and currently cheap!
the fountains at Ballagios is worth a look
excellent pies at Marie Callenders on Sahara
the views from the top of the (fake) Eiffel Tower are quite good
Hoover Dam is worth a look...but it's damn hot!
Bolder City is worth a quick look (on the way back from the Hoover Dam)

be aware people (mainly Mexicans!) will hand you business cards as you walk down the strip....they are for "ladies" who can be in your room in 20 mins, guranteed and offer "full service"...they will give these cards in big bunches to anyone.....like my wife, me (who was holding my wifes hand at the time!!) and they even gave some to my 11 year old son.

Don't believe them Paul, they take 25 mins to arrive and when they get to you they can't even cook. Waste of money!

Mate of mine 'indulged' in some room service and the quality was fine. From the bathroom he instructed her to take payment from the bedside unit which she did....along with every penny he had taken on holiday with him. Guess she thought she deserved a tip.....

....and rent the Shelby soft top from Hertz, 320 hp, Sirius radio, doesn't even matter that you can't open the hood or disable the traction control...

Hi Steve , just left Vegas, don't know if your intending to travel down to Grand Canyon but if you do check out route 66 - Kingman - Mr D's for burgers and Seligman for some cool photo oportunities and Williams which had a rod run on when I was there and a few rod shops.- will post pictures when I can twist my sons arm to upload them.

Have a good time Colin

Bonneville day after tomorrow...............
