I am not going to mention the company but suffice to say it's not Classic line. 2 people in less than a week one a club member have said that they had insured vehicles with a company on an agreed valuation scheme. Both parties had submitted a written valuation by a reputable source. Then a week after parting with 12 months money they get a letter stating that they would only recieve the insurance companies market rate valuation in event of a claim. These are both one off vehicles with no market rate apart from the valuations submitted. One cancelled his policy as this was not the contract he signed up for and had £175.oo held back for 1 weeks cover and administration!!!!! The insurance ombudsman will be contacted but word of warning. Be clear about what your actually getting & don't assume anything before parting with hard earned cash.

i`d say the same...but in their defence they`re fighting a claim against me at the moment and they are being very thorough...or their people are anyway

I'm with Adrian flux and they do their own valuation based on your photo's and info given on their form, then you get a agreed valuation document sent to you, i have found them very fair with their valuations and had my pop valued at twice the amount i paid for it! so i don't think it's them;)

Any insurance company is only as good as their payout record NOT their premium. I'll insure your car for 10 bob a year;)

That is what makes me larf when they advertise on tv:

"...and we'll scan every insurance company from Norfolk to Nigeria, and get you the cheapest possible premium under the sun (Just make sure you never, ever try to claim off it)....."

see my previous thread, why does a criminal conviction (8 yrs ago) spent under the rehahbilitation of offenders act (5 years) for a minor offence affect my car insurance, my licence is clean, i hold PCV, HGV, and tracked Licences, in fact i'm a qualified instructor on them but a minor criminal conviction ups my insurance or excludes me (adrian flux)
ps
the conviction was for "common assault" read self defence!!!

And why did getting divorced push my premium up by £100! I'm obviously a less responsible single man now.....

Edit: Need to add that was my daily insurance not the 34.

Many years ago I had someone run into our car, they admitted full liabilty and no problem with getting repaired even though the paid for them in cash to avoid an insurance claim (young girl driving who was classed as a "employee" on fathers motor traders policy).
I, correctly, informed my insurers I had been the subject of a "no fault" accident yet they put my premium up !
Work that one out :-(
