Nice to see it still out but personally I'd have liked to see it as it was in the good ol' days.

You don't think it's 'individual'? Have you looked at any of the photos?
Not liking the engine choice/stance/copper interior is one thing, but not thinking it is 'individual'????? Hmm.....

Sure it was Purple Metalflake when Pip built it donkeys ago, had an injected big block in it at some point also, just nice to see it still about really.
I like it now....and then.....it's just one of them cars I like...OK the engine poss wouldn't have been my 1st choice but it's not my car and at very least it's running which is more than can for many cars owned by those with "opinions"....... its all Austin (OK Rover ish) if it was a Ford with a Ford in it people would be saying that!!!

Get over it people, it's not the car it used to be and never really was it's whole life considering how many times it got a makeover, be thankful it exists in any guise at all. If you're so hung up on how it should look make the owner an offer he can't refuse and build it the way you want. If you read the post on Retro Rides you'll understand why it's like it is now. No wonder the guy that owns it doesn't post on here, why should he have to explain himself anyway?

So how many paintjobs did it have in the past? Purple 'flake, burgundy? red, yellow, black, any others before its current guise?
I've just remembered I was offered it once by a guy in Wiltshire I think as a possible p/x against my F100 Panel. I think it was black at the time, we only discussed it over the phone and nothing came of the deal.
Originally came out in a limey green, a rush paintjob to get it on the road before the impending Type Approval came into being ! Pete Carter had a load of purple flake left over from Hillbilly Express so that's where the next paint job came from. Think it then went green flake before being painted yellow when it received its first feature.

Agree with Banger. Loads know how it SHOULD be done, few ever come up with the money to own these timewarp cars , like when Henry Hirise was for a grabs a little while back, it called a lot of bluffs.
I totally agree with Banger, when I spoke to th owner he was telling me of how bad the body was, and that he really only took it on because no one else wanted it!!

I think these pics cover all the guises from 1978-1992. Must be the most repainted and rebuilt rod in British rodding history...... http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/pip.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/pip1.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/pip2.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/pip3.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/pip5001.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/pip5002.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/pip5003.jpg

There was a reason it used to get repainted regularly.

Surely it's better to have a piece of rodding history surviving as a revamped different car than have it end up parted out and scrapped as so many have been?
I take my hat off to the owner for having the balls to do something very individual to the car, rather than attempt to rekindle an old flame, nice as it was. Well done!
