I thought the alphabet alex coupe was in Japan. Maybe this one too?
I've just bobbed my rear arches by 4" as they looked too long, this car seems to have had extra added. Mudflaps:)

Yep, that's my old Model A. The Pics were taken by Mike Key and originally appeared on the front cover & featured in the February 1979 issue of HOT ROD & Custom UK.
The pic that B-520 posted was from the magazine but then later used in the book by Richard Nicholls called 'Custom Cars In Colour'.
Yes Bob, correct it was a freezing but sunny early morning in Battersea Park.
The rear fenders do look some what exaggerated in that side shot, however I don't think they were any longer than stock for a '30 A.

I really thought it was a different car, never seen it with slots before. It was in my area for a few years in the mid eighties, ended up red with champ 500's but I liked it best in yellow with cragars!

Dave,
The A coupe was red with Champ 500 at one point, Before Steve Parkes sold it, he had Graham Sanderson do a lot of bodywork then it was painted 2 tone with Black fenders and a grey body, John Reid narrow the axles to get the wheels under the fenders, very restro looking.Hope that refreshes your memory?

Here's a rare photo of my old Model A on the car lot at Anaheim Hot Rods, Los Angeles in 1978. I'd given 'Mikeyboy' a shopping list for the car I was looking for..... a 'real' hot rod, he rang me to say 'I think I've found your car', he had indeed! http://www.nsra.org.uk/newforum/images/icons/icon7.gif

However, did you notice how, even then, there was a slight belly-button situation appearing? I mean, 3 5 windows in a row!!!

before it went to japan, it was owned by harry, a pal of mine from trowbridge. he went up to scotland and swapped his early 80,s vette for it. drove it for a bit, had some problems with the front suspension geometry and brakes, took it up the strip at shakey a few times and brokered the deal in my caravan i used to keep at shakey where it went to japan. trying to remember who was the go between.....

Where did this Thames 4D truck go to ,i think it was built by Smurf of 'Insanity Vans'
It used to be red i think ,then as you see it here, then with pinkish flames added later,so where's it gone ? good use of an old British truck i thought.
DVLA pc has no trace.

Nice! Would that be the Thames Trader as they were called? Like the use of the Chevy bed.

Yep Mikeyboy it sure is a Thames Trader, there were a few different designs, this is an early one.
Just shows what can be done with a little imagination, shame it did not trigger off some more examples of lowered British truck cabs.
Hope it aint dead.
