Just an Offchance,
3HP single Phase Electric motor, prefer the home counties, and must be CHEAP, My lathe motor has just gone PHUT!!!!!

Ian, I may have some motors lying around.Not sure if any of them are single phase right enough. What type of lathe is it?....as I may have one from a Colchester.

Thats the one that sounds good, Single Phase,,--3HP, and the Lathe is a Colchester Student Roundhead.

I,ll check it tomorrow. It was a 3 phase motor a guy got re-wound to use on his home supply. I think he changed the pulley size to accomodate the speed difference. It is off a Student too.

ive got a big single phase job off my 2 poster ramp, not sure of the hp but its more than 3 i think.
