Here's another bunch of Ken and Pete Robbins' superb slides this time taken at the 3rd NASC Nat's at Bisley '77 when 6 B's turned up courtesy of Mike Key, Brian Lucas, Rob Whitwell and 3 from Jeff Beck............... http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/img975.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/img976.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/img979.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/img980.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/img981.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/img982.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/img984.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/img986.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/img992.jpg http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/img993.jpg

I believe Jeff still has the Graffiti clone, he did all the build up himself. I`m not sure if it was ever a magazine feature car in it`s own right, the only time I remember seeing it in an article was when Street Rodder did a feature on Jeff and his cars.
I got to drive and park Jeff`s other black and flamed coupe where it is in those photos, when his friend Steve parked it facing the wrong way. The coupe had a very strong clutch and Steve had a bad ankle, so I light heartedly `offered` to turn it round, to which Jeff handed me the keys. Should have kept driving straight out the gate. :D ;)
That`s me in the `Champion` T shirt and my old friend Micky talking to Jeff`s friend who was driving the Graffiti clone.
That was a great weekend...

Someone put a link on here to an American TV show about a year ago featuring Jeff Beck and the Graffiti clone was on there so I'm pretty sure he still has it. I first saw it earlier in 1977 when he brought it along to the Hastings Cruise and Custom Clubs' monthly meet at the Carlisle Pub on Hastings seafront. It was the first time I'd seen a real Deuce Coupe and spent the evening mesmerized by it
These are the first clear pictures i have ever seen of the 'SuperPrune' 32 sedan. Apart from the rear bodywork treatment, it looks real nice. What was the story behind this, Anyone know what year it was built? Didn't it end up back in the states?
Ah! just had a thought, is it still owned by Jeff Beck the same one that is now orange?
The pre `Prune car was a `50s magazine cover car, black with a flattie.
In the mid `60s Phil Kendrick, whom Beck bought it from, won the Grand Sweepstakes award with it at the `67 San Mateo auto show. The car was then bright orange with a small block chevy and Halibrands.
Phil then rebuilt it with the pearl paint that was on it when Jeff bought it.
Jeff sent it back to the states because the Brit weather was taking it`s toll on the cars condition. I believe it`s now owned by a Tony Demarco who`s restoring it.
Personaly, I think that bobbed rear treatment looks the nuts Mel...

Ken Robbins just sent me this snap of the black & flamed B which he took in 1975 at Orange County International Raceway. He thinks it was built by Top Fuel Chassis builder Roy Fjastad. Anyone know anymore about this one or what became of it? http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m149/timetraveldvds/12-18-2008_002.jpg
The sedan certainly has a lot of history to it and being a show car makes it what it is. The rear end looks tough enough, but maybe the photo makes it look very high.
Having said that, I wouldn't mind that rear axle setup myself:).
The front of the sedan looks absolutely perfect IMHO and i reckon' 70's aftermarket hotrod parts are starting to look very historic. More photos please.....

The black and flamed 5 window got repainted in straight black and a few years back shipped back to the States and sold. The last I heard it was fenderless, painted pink with a large mural of Elvis' head on the sides - seriously!

Thats correct Nick, it was built originaly by Roy Fjastad. I think Jeff buying this coupe from Roy may have been the start of their long standing friendship. True Hot Rodders both...:)

That's the one, or rather, that's part 2 which I hadn't seen before. Part 1 was the video that was first linked on here. Once you get past the American TV style & the irrepressible Barry Meguiar, the interviews with Jeff are very good & show his passion for rods.

According to the TV show interview, he had a pair of show plates made over here, then 21 years later was offered the genuine English number plate docs, which naturally he bought! How cool is that?
