Ok i know its more "recent" history but all the same no digital cameras then.
This was an excellent cruise venue we did when in Watford Rods, not sure on the date though could be 15 years plus?, any ideas?
Remember Andys Pop turning up quite a sight to see that!!!!!!!!

In my opinion Barry Grimes car was one of the best rods ever built in Britain. The workmanship was excellant, understated and underated.

Got to agree Roger, Barry's Willy's was excellent, the sort of car you could look all around it and find it hard to change or improve on,

I was at Quincys that night, went with Brian Arliss, his black 32 is parked next to the pinkish coloured pop,
people were phoning each other(pre internet) that andy was taking the pop there,
when Andy left in the pop it was like being at the pod, all you could smell was the race fuel in the air, a good night.

I raced against Barry in the Willys at Avon Park in the late ninties, the Hot Rod Drags or the Nostalgias. We were both wheels up side by side 9.3's and both in cars we had built our selves. One of my favourite rades ever. It was when you had to wait at half track to cross the track to return. we both switched off and celebrated and yahhooed, very unlike Barry. A funny thing, when they called all of the cars waiting to cross the track we jumped back in and started them up only to follow a line of 14 second dragsters being towed up the return road at about 2 mph we tried to pass them on the grass but the slicks didn't grip too well, we were just so hyped. A very impressive car in all departments.
