Yes!!! That is superb and exactly the kind of diversity that I was hoping to see.
The thing with builds like this is to see it as inspiration rather than feeling that you can't compete. I know it's a competition but really it's all about seeing what all of you can come up with and getting people to discuss what they've done.
Having said all of that my build now seems very lame.....:D

exactly Steve.........it does give inspiration....saying that i only used 6 pieces to make my fuel pump:p;):o:rolleyes::D.

cheers for the compliments guys, with 35 or more people building a 32, I was never gonna build a coupe, had to do something different. It's a long way from finished and I've bitten off more than I can chew really. If all goes to plan the paint will be something a bit special but it's a little cold to paint at the minute.

so far.........mmmmmmmm.......bitten off more than i can chew....yep but not in the same league as Mr 54............body modified from 5 window retaining stock firewall, chassis stock with a few tweeks to fit the rear end......front end scratch built with spindles from a dragster front end cut off and grafted onto a "spare sprue" tube with steering etc cut from same dragster kit.....the shocks (cheers Scottie) will be mounted in a fashion that will have tech experts crying into their coffee....but it will look good IMO. Engine 426 hemi with two hilborn style inductions cut up, messed about with and glued back together.......the engine mounts are a pain and still may not work[:(!].........still got to build the frame for the mounted moon tank "winged express" style stuck out front....and the interior is a pile of bits of cut up coke cans waiting to be fitted together for the "ally panel" interior........and all this before teatime:D.....the Vicky tow/puch car is being built pretty much stockish with a flatty but will be channelled and the trailer isnt even started yet...........decals on the vicky may lead those in the know to the fact that the 32 will be finished as the "Stone Woods and Cook" 32 style gasserish car that they never built lol:rolleyes:............having soooooooo much fun with this.
Anymore????????

well, i only got my chassis and body on monday.
But with some determination, ive used spare parts from another 32(the chassis of which is under a 31 sedan and the body on top of a shortened funny car chassis)
ive decided where the body will be on the chassis, channeled it, sectioned the interior panels to suit, made a sterring collum support, and last night i attached my rear axel mounts. who needs rear suspension lol
this is my inspriration

i wont be building a replica, just taking the charactor.
i didn't want to do anything too radical, 'cos it would have taken me ages to work it all out properly, and i would never get it done in time.
(talking of radical, i did section 6mm out of a 55 chevy stepside whilst waitn for glue to set lol)
It will be a ford, powered by a ford too.

Hmmmm....me thinks there might be a few similar-looking '32s at the end of this. Perhaps I shouldn't have sold my fenders to that restorer fellow after all.

If this is a success there will be another next winter. May start it before Christmas so that you can put your holiday to good use. What subject matter? That would be telling....:D
I reckon the next theme should be fat fenders. You have the 36, 3 and 5 window, 37 convertible, 37 slantback, 40 standard /deluxe, 40 pickup, sedan, sedan delivery. And if you can find it 37 Chevy covertible, so 10 kits to choose from.
oh and the 40 woody

We will not be limiting it to one kit as the problems in buying them in bulk make it a pain. Oh, and Drakie and I will not have a head start as we have to agree on the subject first and that will not happen until nearer the time! :)
I think we will have to see how this one goes as the NSRA may not want to do one next year! we will have to just wait and see!
Im doing a stock box build anyway as i dont have the time for anything else at the min :) the only thing i have changed is the tyres ;)
Hmmmm....me thinks there might be a few similar-looking '32s at the end of this.
I have the fender skirts off mine if anyone wants em as i aint using them drop me a pm first come first serve sorry but i only have 1 set!
