Can someone please tell me what the cc is on a SBC 305 engine ? i thought is was 5000cc BUT according to the DVLA manufacturers dont make an engine size of exactly 5000cc and thus along with other sh1t they seem to need for a simple engine change on a tax exempt car they say if not corrected will be rejected ?? i also sent a receipt of proof of purchase etc and after over 4 weeks came back without the v5 and now i seem to have a lot of sh1t of getting reports etc to have a chance of sorting it ..............Why bother trying to be legal its a waste of time , i should of listerned to others and not bothered changing the engine size..........so what cc is a 305 ?........Thanks Mark

My transam had a 305 and it had 5000 cc on the v5 .

i sent my v5 for my model y in after christmas for to change the colour and capacity change from 2000 to 5000cc .

came back no probs a couple of weeks ago. never sent anything other than the v5.

one of the lucky ones i guess

Engine size and numbers are legally required to be notified with a £1000 fine ( max) if you don't do it.With your luck Skimmer .....LOL

here is the formu;la for changing ci to cc 1 cubic inch ( cu.in. ) = 16.387064 cubic centimetres ( cu.cm. cm3 or cc )

so 305x16.387064 is 4998cc, remember is its been bored you would need to add in the difference ;)

Pi x the radius squared x the stroke x number of cylinders will give you the size if its been bored.

Yep.
Worth bearing in mind tha GM especially were sometimes a bit approximate in their cubic inch sizings. A 350 Pontiac for instance is really 354.

Same with Ford's 427, which if I remember rightly was actually 425CI

And to make me even more pi55ed off i thought i would take the Pop out for a play for that feel good feeling and guess what broke down 4 times in 3 or so hours only to find out it appears to be a new part i fitted 3 weeks ago ,that being a fuel pressure regulator , it regulated allright it actually seems to block the flow totally , so will remove and see what happens..............Having a bad car day ...LOL
