Jase, you will have to ask Andy ref the 4 wheels off the floor pic, as it isn't his, although he has permission to 'use' it, I have it, but would rather not put it up...
If you know what I mean...

I'm not sure of the exact spec Steve as I didn't build it , I think the guy who built it was a good friend of Tony Gransden but I can't remember his name .
It was certainly nothing exotic , 350 with solid lifter cam , 2.02 heads , single plane intake with 850 Holley , 4 speed , 12 bolt with 5.13's . Chassis was fairly stock with subframe connectors , 90/10's . 50/50's and slapper bars - all revs and gears according to a mate of mine at the time lol .
I ran a 12.2 @ 121mph , looking at the terminal speed it should have been in the 11's but it got really squirrely mid track - a snails pace by today's standards but I did drive it to the Pod from Bournemouth .

Current altered doesn't wheelstand, only launchs at 3K and it does 1.18 60ft's. I've no doubt if I wind it up to 5K it'll get a foot of air no problem.

On the HAMB, Kiwi Kev readily admits that that was a lucky shot that worked out well, he was taking a second 'bite' after launching and the resulting bounce is what was captured on film. Cool pic none the less.

That run stuck in my mind forever, it was always my target (and as Ron says he drove it from Bournemouth!). I wish I was back home to post a pic of my old '57, at night at the Flame and Thunder.

Obviously a combination that just hit the spot! Excellent. I'd agree that the terminal shows an 11 sec car there.:D

Hehe , I caught a few people out in that car , it was an animal on the street really as the N50's were a lot smaller diameter than the slicks which made it feel even more ferocious , at 50mph you could dip the clutch and give it a bootfull and the back end would be all over the place lol .
It had a heatsoak problem with the starter Mel as it had big tube headers , started fine when cold . I think I did sell it shortly after that Picnic .

Learning how high not to set the wheelie bars....
ive got an a1 framed picture of that shot on my kitchen wall.
i ordered the shot from sharky as soon as i first saw it on eurodragster.
he told me the story of the wheelie bars and said that it wont happen again? which is a shame...;).
also the old lady asked me to get a picture for our newly refurbished kitchen.........
"dont mind what, as long as its got green in it"......... :).
THE car of the NFAA.......... IMHO... ;).

Garry it's 4:30 PM here, Bev and Sue have dragged us out of a Bar in Gulfport and we are limbering up for tonight. Tuesday night is rough bar night ( ask Jim Mcghee ). And we still managed to phtograph photos and put it on a disc, when we went to the drug store they could have scanned and emailed them to us but with a combined age of 210 years what chance did we stand.

That's easy for you to say.... When we first ran the Bantam (before we realised we might need a little ballast around the front end), I punched 3rd gear at half track and it rode up on the wheelie bars. My, how we laughed... Not.

for someone who has not experienced driving a dragster, the above sounds like a laugh.........but its somewhat different when you actually do it.......superb race car by the way.......beautiful IMO

I gotta say it is easier in a '57, it came down on the first shift, certainly before 70ish MPH. I wouldn't have wanted that thing in the air at half track!
