Not a Rod or custom, just a straight old original paint cruiser with near perfect interior...

It bares a couple of shipping battle scars which i'm really p*ssed off about but hey ho... it's here and now i remember why it stopped me in my tracks on that day at Pomona swap meet last April :)

Here's a few pics of it(and my 54 Bel Air)

I'm going to tidy the paint where it got damaged on the boot lid in shipping and a tiny bit of rust on the front RH wing, clean it up, service it and enjoy for a while... i haven't seen it for about 10 months and had figured i would sell it when it got back here but now i've seen it again and(more importantly) sat in it i'm going to have to keep it and cruise around in it for a while at least :)

I bought the 54 Chevy because i liked the faded burnt through paint just as it is so don't worry it wont be getting painted... i am a painter by trade and am feeling the need to do a full paint project so i found a nice solid 40 chevy coupe that has really nasty paint so i don't feel guilty about taking it back and starting agian :)

I have to sell the 54 to fund the others but i just got it MOT ready today so hopefully it'll be registered by next weekend and i hope to be able to get at least a months worth of use out of it before it goes to a new home...

Thats a proper time warp car, please don't paint it, just waxoyl it and drive it, enjoy!

I think it's the 5.2 litre(316.713cu) but not 100%, the engine runs like a dream and is very clean and original looking.

Mikeyboy is right - I think a 57 Star Chief should be a 4bbl 347, 316 was the big '56 motor and 287 for 55...

I was going on specs from the page linked below but to be honest i have found the length to be incorrect and pretty sure the weight is so it's quite possible the engine size is too

Well the big day came for the 54 yesterday and i'm very happy to say it now has an MOT! :)

I literally took it out for a 2 mile test drive which is the first time it's been on the road since 71 half an hour before the MOT... i was pretty relieved that it drove ok... infact it drives really nicely and i was suprised that it's really not that slow! :)

now i just need to order the drop spindles and lowering blocks...
