Please pardon my ignorance... but i am aware that certain rods have some sort of legendary status.... ie; pinball wizard... can someone please enlighten as to what makes a rod that bit more special pushes the boundarys etc????? for example what is it that makes pinball wizard the legend that it is??? I am honestly really interested... as you only learn about things by asking. so PLEASE can anybody please maybe name a few rods and hopefully pics and the reasons why they are so 'special'.. thanx in advance.. BIGTED. x

Its partly the vehicle and partly the builder. The name Micky Bray and his achievements obviously dont need explaining.

The car was infront of its time when it was built and inspired many many pops.
To be honest i never even knew that the body lifted

It also at one point dissapeared and then turned up in a pretty sorry state only to be brought back to its former glory by Pete and i think Paul Hershaw.

Its been around a long time and looks as good if not better than ever.

All these factors go someway to making these rods Legendary Ted.

Well, in my opinion anyway.

Its the inspiration these rods provoke that makes them legendary.:D;)

I also think Langys Rocket project , Russ,s Blown Hemi 32 and few others will one day fit into the legendary catergory providing we all keep the faith or it least pass it on to others so they can caretake these masterpieces, just like art survives the ravages (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&ei=KL6hSe-hM-KYjAeX76jLCw&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=1&ct=result&cd=1&q=ravages&spell=1) of time.:D

Ted going to the many open air and indoor shows that were going on in the seventies there just seamed to be new cars coming out every month but then every now and then one would turn up that was just so ahead of it's time, so jar dropping good you would just stop in your tracks and stare, pinball, hot n bothered, speed freak, brains roadster, anything nick butler layed his hands on, pips creations the list goes on you just had to be there, as i've said before the seventies was a very special time for me and the long standing efect rodding of that time has had on me.

Dont s'pose youve got any pics of the mentioned cars mate.... i was too young to go to shows in the 70's (40 in 5 weeks time do the maths) lol.....but that seems to be the years when the pops amongst other rods were appearing??
