The NSRA Committee will be making a number of important changes to the Forum over the coming weeks.

Why change?

- The Committee wishes to keep the Club and the Forum firmly focussed on what the NSRA is all about.

- The NSRA is a Club, and its first responsibility is to its Members. Providing and paying for unlimited free forum use, bandwidth, and hosting for non-members is not the best use of the members' subscription fees.

- Some changes will be made in response to Forum users requests.

Changes to Guests entitlements

New Guests on the Forum will be entitled to 25 posts in any of the 'open' areas, as now. However, after 25 posts, 'Guests' will only be able to post in the 'events' section, and the 'classifieds' sections - i.e cars and parts for sale and wanted.

All Guests will be able to view the other 'open' areas of the Forum - but to post in other areas, and play a full part in Forum discussions, you will need to become an NSRA member.

This change will come in to effect in two weeks time: 24th April, at which time the entitlements of all existing Guests will change as described.

(Online joining is now available from the homepage link www.nsra.org.uk (http://www.nsra.org.uk))

Guests Trading on the Forum

Non-member 'Traders' will no longer be able to buy and sell on the Forum.
Casual buying and selling of cars and parts by Members and Guests will continue as normal. But if you run a business, or make a substantial part of your income from such trading, you will need to join the NSRA to continue trading on the Forum.

A limited number of people will be affected by this, and NSRA Committee will contact those concerned to advise them of the situation. This change will also come in to effect in two weeks time: 24th April.

NSRA Car Criteria

The lack of a defined 'car criteria' for the Forum has caused difficulties in the past. This has been addressed, and a full explanation of the criteria appears here (http://www.nsra.org.uk/newforum/showthread.php?t=26178) .

In short, the NSRA car criteria is: Pre 1972 hot rods, street rods & customs

The Committee will ask the moderators to ensure that cars discussed and shown on the forum meet the criteria. Note that the "unless radical" wording no longer appears in the criteria, leaving a simple pre 1972 cut-off.
Car criteria is effective as of now.

Pre '49 Forum Section

A new forum section will be introduced for pre '49 rodding discussion.
This does not signal a change in Club or Forum direction; just as Pop owners have their own specialist section, so will the pre-49ers.

Additional PM quota

NSRA Members will get an increased Personal Messages quota.
As this will have some impact on server space, the quota will initially be increased to 150.

A new look web site

To go along with these changes we also intend to launch a 'new look' for the main NSRA web pages. Doug's redesign will provide a more attractive web site, which will also allow NSRA Committee to keep the various page contents up to date.

On-line NSRA membership - joining and renewal

The ability to join the NSRA on-line, at any time of the year, is now available from the NSRA home page.

We hope you'll understand why we feel it's time to make these major changes. If you're serious about rods and customs we urge you to join us in the UK's premier Hot Rod Association - the NSRA.
