Adam Sayers born in Sept’ 1965 so at the moment I am 42 years old.
I live in Herts with the wife Gill and our 2 kids. I have been into the American car / Hot Rod scene since I was 19. For a job I am a signalling engineer currently working on upgrade projects on London Underground through my own company.
Progressed from the ubiquitous MKII Cortina, Dolomite Sprint, MKI escort fast affordable street cars to V8’s soon after passing my test. First yank motor was at age 19 which was a ’74 Z28 followed by a ’68 Dodge Charger R/T with a Hauser built 440. Then a ’57 Chevy pick up which although I owned for 14 years only had on the road for one of those! I joined the NSRA in the late 80's as there were no clubs in my area that I knew of. Been a member ever since. Had a few other Early yanks like a ’71 Chevelle with a 396ci and a ’49 Chevy (355ci), ’55 Chevy L6 more door which I converted to a 327 and Th350, Fully rebuilt ‘60’s style slingshot dragster running a blown small block that got a CC front page and centre page feature. My current vehicles are an ’02 F150 Harley Davidson Lightning, a Custom ’57 Chevy 4 door station wagon which has a crate 290hp 350ci & 4 speed auto, a ’55 Chevy 2 door post which in a couple of years will be a Pro Touring car with a warmed over 355ci and my ’57 Chevy 2 door post race / street car which has my full attention at the moment. This has a F2 cog drive Procharger blown 540ci Dart engine, TH400 box and a spooled Olds rear. Radirs and M/t's on each corner. I am hoping to join the ranks of Street Eliminator with it in 2008.
Spent 6 years on NSRA committee 5 as secretary and one as chairman. I enjoy building small & big block Chevy engines for myself and friends. Have a large data base of engine & part casting numbers & tri Chevy infomation. Always ready to give advice but more importantly not give it where the info is lacking. Have helped a quite a few friends and club members by building their engines (all of which are thankfully still beating!) Know a fair bit about 55-56-57 Chevy’s. Not so good on Ford, Mopar or Rover stuff! I am also the tri Chevy side of R&R Hot Rod Imports which supply every concievable new 55-56-57 Chevy part new (normally in stock) and a constantly changing stock of used parts .
Member of the Outlaws Rod & Drag Club.
