View Full Version : How do you work out what wheelnuts to use?

Another silly question but I don't want to get this wrong. I need to buy a set of sleeved wheelnuts and stud conversions (was wheelbolts originally) but no idea how to work out what I need.

I've measured the wheel and these are the dimensions of each hole. The wheel mounting face is ~1" thick. The hole is 5/8" diameter, and the recess for the washer is ~1".

I was thinking of buying these, are they right for the application?

Only problem is they're flat washers. I've got a set of the correct size taper washers so shouldn't be a problem.

The next problem is the studs. The nuts have closed ends so they can't be too long. As the wheel mounting face is ~1" would these be OK?

Cheers for the help

Can't see why not.
The wheel is 25mm thick. the studs have 28mm thread. the studs will stick out 3mm from the wheel. the threaded part inside the nut appears to go much more than 3mm beyond the washer surface, so as long as they're the right thread to suit your hubs, they look ideal.

Cheers. I was fairly sure they were OK but the last thing I want is the wheel falling off lol.
