I know there are loads of Pops out there ( relatively speaking ) but how many Fordsons are there actually ON the road ? Off the top of my head I can only think of Gary Mc's , Shortys Shaker ( 1 and 2! ) , and Dave Sidaways ?? Is Old Iron back on the road yet ?Any others I'm missing ?
Have any of the old Classic Fabs bodies been finished either?

Ah, there will be one more, as soon as I’ve finished renovating the house abroad - twas the only way I could hide the escalating build costs from the wife...

ZX14 Engine is on its way to a machine shop to be breathed on and come out as a turbo'd 1580cc, 3rd version frame is away at the powder coaters, the body shell is cut ready for the frame, but not painted, till I get the doors latched and lecky windows sorted.

Paint will be distressed vintage, being painted by the same folks that build period cars for films, but I’ve have to wait till they have time between film shoots

I’m aiming for Billing, but I said that last year too, but as soon as its rolling and stopping under its own power I'll load up some footage on YouTube to show you how it all hangs together..

I'll have some further build photos as soon as the New Year is out of the way, as it’s a 320-mile round trip just to see the frame.

Hi, with regards to the Yellow Fordson, Trudledux is right, it is owned by me, Steve Elliott & I've actually owned it since 1979, when I was still at school.
To answer your question about what it runs etc, well, its got the "prototype" jago pop chassis, as it was originatly built by Kris Brown at jago's way back in the early 70's, & to answer Kapri, it is "Old Iron" [MODERATED by Doug TO HIDE IDENTITY] & its nearly back on the road. Its got a Rover V8, Bw 65 auto, Ford 8" rear. There's not much of it that is from when Kris had it, but the basis is there.
Even though I've owned it for 28 years, & re-built it 3 or 4 times, people still know it as Kris Browns, which goes with the territory i spose. Would be nice for it to be known as mine after all this time tho.

My Fordson was previously rodded by Ray Ramsay, it had a Jag V12 which he replaced with a pinto before I bought it. I painted it orange/grey (this was last century remember!) but it has been off the road a few years. It has now got a rover V8 with quad SU setup among other changes. I want to get it finished and commercial SVAd soon.

I think this might 'future proof' it a bit; in light of potential future changes to bring the UK in line with EU regs. Also commerical SVA has erm... different rules from car SVA.

Going to have a big effort on it over the next few months to finish it off Lee. Something happened (DVLA / vehicle identity fraud problem) last year which brought it home to me how easy it is to lose.

Guys have been price condition supposidely by the side valve club at £3000 and someone i think a rodder said its worth £1800.
I asked about paperwork and they said the same thing previous owner may or may not have it so i take that as no.If you verify the reg and chassis number and ask for side valve clubs help cant you retrieve logbook or what would happen if you apply for a lost log book.
With all the severe rust in the back end the sides have come away completely from the body and the rear doors because of that have dropped in.The whole sides flap around looks rudey aweful. The inside wheelarches are completely off and the strengthenng things are hanging off.Didnt realise these thins where so flimsey. The rear panel is completely gone and about 6 to 7 inches of the back wings and lower section are gone as well .Rear section of front wings are quite bad but retrevable.Grill at bottom has largish dent probably whilst been loaded. It cant have been stored in a barn as the rot is too bad i think the backend was probably hanging out of the barn or the whole thing may have been in damp conditions more likely.
Its probably worth a punt as you say at around 750 to 1000 but i reckon someone who hasnt viewed it will make a silly offer. AS USUAL!!!! rust in peace! all this is mad really as 5 years ago you would be lucky to get £200 for it.!!

Don't think I've seen a mention of Steve Lewin in Colchester - not seen him to speak to for some time but I'm pretty sure the van is back on the road after re-paint. From memory it's 3.1 RS powered.

Stu Smith has the 'flake green one (shorty's 2?). He was at the hot rod drags with it.

Not on the road but no one's mentioned Maurice Osborne's 440 mopar powered red one - was in CC back in '88 with Cragars (whey!) on it, had '68 Pontiac mail slots too. Been space framed by Kev Cerasale since. Might be finished one day...

If it's the pearly yellow one, (reg. PNG something, I think?) then yes, it's out-and-about, saw it at Mersea this year, and previous years as well. A nice van, that...

That's the one - I know Steve took it off the road for a repaint after he had probs with bleed through .
One day he might get round to an interior :D

These belong to Mark Fellows who lives near me and he says this is how they are supposed to look,i think he meant to go on to say before you start on working on them :D
As you can see he has already made a start by correcting the one at the far end ,so, just two more to go eh Mark ;)

Hi i am the new owner of "shorty shaker 2" which is now "Twisted nut". The van is now going through a re-vamp on trim and full rewire. The engine is being fitted with a twin carbed tunnel ram with NOS. Hope to have it back on the road for Drayton Manor this year. :D
