My mate is after a 2 speed cast iron powerglide , he has a 2 speed aluminium one to swap,can anyone help?

If the cast iron powerglide is the one that fits the straight 6,then try Carolina Classics as they hav just removed one from a belair ,..they may be able to sell you,via there customer.

What year does he need. The belhousings changed around 1955.

Im pretty sure its 1961 for an Impala Bubbletop with 283 V8.

might be worth trying rod eady at eadys autos he is clearing out for hopefully a housing development

I think the iron glide went up to 1962/3 but I would try to look for one from 57 onwards.

Is there any reason why he wants an iron glide? They weight 3 times what an ally one does, they leak and after a long run can 'burp' fluid out the dipstick tube when cooling down. Unless he is going 100% resto I'd stick with the ally glide or swap in a TH350 although the prop end will have to be changed from 16 to 27 splines.

Would he consider selling the ally glide seperately?
I'm looking for a core to rebuild for my MG you see.
