Hi all,
Can anyone confirm to me the track-rod end balljoint taper for a 1940 Ford spindle. I've done a bit of investigating and have come up with 7 degrees, is that correct?
If it is, what modern cars have the same size so I don't have to sit in the local factors rummaging through their shelves ( I think they are getting a bit fed up with me)
Thanks very much.

All automotive tapers are 7' , however , most modern stuff is for racks and so are female rather than male. Likewise the 'thickness ' will vary within the same taper ie imagine a 3 foot long piece of track rod end and you can have a track rod end 1.5 inches long anywhere on that length. Like Steve says, easier to buy the correct ones as you'l also run into thread issues if replacing existing components.

Ah, I did'nt realise they were all the same taper. Can anyone suggest the best place to buy these in England or is that the sort of part that I need to buy from America?
