English Impala

Gary (English Impala) here. Taken me a while to log into the new forum as I posess the computer skills of a goldfish.
Okay, 38 years old, married to Sheila, one child (3 Y/O daughter Jessica).
Been into rods & customs since I started reading my dads Custom Car & Hot Car magazines back in the 70's. Built a chopped & couped pinto powered Minor in the late 80's (space frame chassis, suicide doors, channeled, chopped, couped etc, etc....) & 3.0 V6 Austin Somerset. Bought a Camaro at the age of 18 & sold it on again as the insurance was incredible (and it was as rotten as a pear on a sunbed....). Drifted into the classic car scene & spent thousands on various Triumphs (including a Stag, but I'm not gay). Made a full recovery after a few years & dropped a Rover V8 into a mk1 Triumph 2000. Sounded great but as it was a knackered low compression engine it wasn't any quicker than the straight six that it replaced!
Bought my dream car back in 2001, a 1960 Chevy Impala sport sedan (flat top). Been right through it & restored the body to stock, dropped in a small block & TH350, lowered it by two inches & fitted 17 inch Torque Thrust 2's & low profiles. Real life has got in the way at the minute due to a short period of ill health & now trying to complete an extension on the house by Christmas. But, the Chevy will be finished as soon as possible....
Also have a '37 Ford 7W that was bought to build an SVA compliant Street Rod, but it still sits in the drive due to a distinct lack of time!
Why the username English Impala? Well, the first forum I joined was Chevy Talk. A US forum that appears to contain a large percentage of Americans who hate to see "their" cars leaving US soil. So I thought I'd rub salt in the wound & remind them every time I posted that one of their cars was now owned by an Englishman! Immature? You bet.... Anyway, as I struggle to remember anything I've kept the same username on here to keep things simple for me!
