Basically it means you need proof of it being original and untouched for it to be able to use Historic registration or proof of it having undergone SVA/BIVA . .

In theory there should be free unrestricted access to the car being registered from one EU country to another. In reality ,even with all the correct paperwork France is one of the worst countries to register a standard vehicle let alone a modified one even if it has IVA from the exporting country.

It may be worth PMing Austin 10 on here as a Brit in France who has jumped through these hoops?

Have just done this for a trike in the club I run - we use a British guy in France who knows the ins and outs and is very friendly with his local bureaucrats. Charges a couple of hundred pounds I think but this is well worth the money. I think you "sell" it to him and then he "sells" it to the French buyer. Something like that - but he's been able to get cars registered that we thought impossible.

I can put you in touch - but he just does the job for his fee, he won't allow himself to be a free advice service.
