Well - been a long time coming but I fired it up today just to prove that it runs.

Happydaze did the hard work on Saturday but we couldn't turn it over because my Start n Charge wasn't man enough for the job. So I got an old battery from the farm yesterday and charged it up.

I was going to just turn it over but I thought what the hell and filled a spray bottle with petrol and give it a few squirts. It roared into life for about 3 seconds and my 18 month old daughter was shouting with delight (had to get her out because it got pretty smoky).

I think it needs new plugs & points and the timing setting properly - but hey it runs!!

Now to start ticking all those jobs off the list and get it on the road.

Nervous, but exciting huh? :D

Its surprising how well they'll run and idle with just a couple of occasional loose shots of juice down the carb.

I helped a mate get his quad carbed open headered Rover running on Sat and Sunday...NICE :D

This morning was trying to coax a 200 bhp 2.3 VW lump into life but losing loads of power when cranking so got to go back and find the power drop.:(
