As a follow up to Swompy's thread on setting up a Holley 390 on a Rover V8, is the Edelbrock 500 set up the same way ?
After replacing to old SU breather set up with a proper PCV valve and changing a very dirty 9" paper air filter element to a new 14" K&N air filter, the idle RPM on first start up was much slower. I have adjusted the idle speed and guess the mixture will need adjusting now as the carb will be getting a lot more air through the K&N.
Cheers Andy

For a 500 on a Rover its best to install a recalibration kit as the 500 is a little big, Its worth doing as i put one in Sue's Edelbrock and she now see's 30mpg with out trying :)

Hi Steve, I'm sure the guy I bought the car off said the previous owner who put the 500 on, had a kit fitted and the car was put on a rolling road.( I have the printed read out for that). So it should just need a fine tune up for the new air filter and change in engine vac with the new PCV fitted.
He also said he thought he was getting 25 -30 MPG so does sound like one was fitted.
