Can anyone help with the bare minimum ECU wiring required to run a Ford V6 Cologne. I had thought of fitting a rotor distributor, but I have all the bits (I think) to fit and run the original setup in my 29 roadster. I also have two spare ECU's so hopefully one of these will be a runner.

from memory there will be 2 plugs on the ecu , one will plug into the dizzy, if you tell me what the colours are on the other plug i will look up the manual
Hi Scottie, I have checked out all the equipment. Unfortunately the dizzy connector doesn't match with either from the ECU. Both the ECU and dizzy have socket connectors with plugs fitted with wire tail ends.
Anyway, I have checked all the colours as follows:
Dizzy - Black (earth?), Purple, Orange (Male connector wires, Brown, Green/Yellow, Black/Red)
ECU - Connector 1, Green, Orange, Purple, Black/Green (Male connector wires, Light Green, Light Green/Yellow, Brown, Black/Red - Connector 2, Pink, White (Male connectors wires, Black, Black/Green
I hope this makes sense to you. Thanks, Russ

one of the ecu plugs should defo fit the dizzy one
heres what the granada manual says
ECU
black/green >>>>>>>>>>>>> ign switch (power when ign on)
black/red >>>>>>>>>>>>> coil ( positive side )
green/yellow >>>>>>>>>>>> dizzy
brown/green >>>>>>>>>>>> dizzy
black >>>>>>>>>>>> dizzy
green >>>>>>>>>>>> coil neg side and signal for rev counter
in fords around this year black is always power when ign on, brown is earth
unfortunately the manual doesnt say what colours the wires from the ecu change to at the plug on their way to the dizzy
