I hope some of you can help me out!

My 55 belair has just broken a front spring! It has 7 coils, when I look at the carsinc catalogue the lowering springs they have in the pictures have 9. So I am now not sure how lowered the front of the car is!

So if any of you have springs to sell or can suggest where to get from please let me know!!

I've just checked my spare set of small block 55 springs..they have 10coils in total. Not for sale sorry.
If you want a secondhand set it may be worth ringing Tim Bowman?

Grant, I found my cut down set of springs they have 9 coils to them. I know they have been cut 1 coil because I got them from laurence who did it. I think yours have had a hell of a whack mate. Each coil is worth about 2" in ride height so if you have stock tri 5 springs with just 7 coils you may be under the tarmac if your running dropped spindles too! Thing is till they are installed you just won't know.

At that much drop you must be almost on the bump stops. You may want to check out a thread on 'Rods & Sods' entitled 'catastrophic suspension failure' to see what that can cause.

Steve,

I have a good idea hat that can cause, there's always something else with these old cars! I must be near the end of the repairs by now, had it two years and still finding stuff from previous owners!

Good job I'm a slow driver now a days, well most of the time! You can't race this thing around the corners like a hot hatch mind!
