Looking for a diff to fit a sherpa casing such as a westminister or simular that will fit with 3.54-1 gears or taller, that will give it longer legs on the motorway thanks

I fitted Westminster gears into my Sherpa housing. I was told they fit straight in, but after i bought the diff off Ebay I found the axles had different splines, so I pulled apart the Westy gears and built them together with the Sherpa spline hub things. I also had to remove some curved shims from the planet gears to get them in, but it all worked out eventually.
Came out at 3.9:1, which was far better than the 4.9:1 I started with.

Hi Paul from what I've heard there are 2 type of spline for the westy 10 and 27 but I toyally agree with what you said swapping out the planets is the way to go if needed. I hve heard of some sherpa's having 3.54 gears but I'll find a diff one day. Plan B is the
P5b axle swap they are the same width and the right gears but hey I'm 25 years out of date.... and Lazy. LOL

Hi
You won't find anything taller than 3.54 .
Others available (c. 1968) 1:3.77, and 1:3.9.
Happy seaching!!!!
