Need to fit an oil pressure gauge to the Y....Whats the simplest, quickest route??

Electrical? Mechanical ? Any thoughts on where I can get a suitable sender

Its running a late '70s early 80's 8RB Toyota engine

All Help appreciated !

Electrical will be the easiest Ger, Somewhere on the engine will be a oil pressure take off port, probably blanked at the moment otherwise there would be a big leak !!!

You will need a sender to match your gauge, Most senders are 1/8"NPT.

Cheers Langy,

The take off port...is that the same one that runs the warning light??

Yes Ger. You should be able to get a T piece if you want to retain the warning light.

Any Toyota buffs confirm the thread type?? Someone mentioned it could be 1/8"-28 BSPT ....or .... 14mm fine(??)

Yes Ger, As Dusty said just put in a T piece, Not sue of thread but would guess at 1/8" NPT, Take the light sender out and have a look at the thread and it will be tapered if NPT.

I think you'll find theres a big diffrence between 1/8 bsp about 10mm in new money and 14mm ..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_228
