Hey guys, wondering if anybody can answer some questions for me regarding shipping and registering????
Never imported anything before! Ok, I've bought a 46 ford truck with title and obviously should have all relevant paperwork to go with it. The truck is roller and has no engine or tranny, I've been told I need to M.O.T it to get it registered and that I have a limited amount of time to do it in???? Is any of this correct??.

You need an MOT to register it . The 'limited amount of time' is down to the fact that local offices ( who do an inspection if they feel like it) are down for closing by next April. It will still be possible to register a vehicle though it is looking like inspection wil be conducted by VOSA stations .

The current laws of modifying are listed here . Others experiences may differ but this is what SHOULD happen.

Laws on imported modified vehicles here

Those are the only legal ways of registration .

Misuse of logbooks carries a maximum fine of £2000 and\/or 24 months imprisonment as the maximum penalty. However in reality ( except for a couple of cases ) DVLA normally withdraw the V5c and send th vehicle for BIVA test anyway.

What you chose to do with this information ,and your vehicle, is your choice now based on facts.
