53 Chevy gearbox, 3 speed manual needed

Hello all,
A mate of mine (not on here) has just imported a nice 53 Bel Air hard top from Louisiana, has the stock 3 speed manual transmission which has died after the first long run in it.
He's can't have mine...so thought I'd see if anyone has one they are willing to part with, or knows of someone who may have one.

got a box without bell housing as a spare for my 49 wagon it should be same I think [torque tube type ?] if it gets him out of trouble would consider selling ? hows £150 ?
