Hello,
First the preamble, I've got the builders in at the moment which meant that Tetanus was sat on the drive, anyway one of them asked if it was one of those Hotrod things? Out of the mouths of the innocent.
Well after a hard think I went with;
No.
I said it was a fun old car.

When I was building my 1938 Ford 8 back in the 80's it's was outside the house, it had just had the roof chopped & was still in bare metal so there were all the cuts & welds visable.
An old boy walked past & said "son you're brave to take this on, it's obviously been in a terrible accident" made me smile, I didn't have the heart to explain!

Fueling up in Sainsbury's and some random woman comes over to the Roadster....
"That's fantastic, don't ever paint it - you'll ruin it if you paint it. Volkswagen is it"?

I love the look on the public's faces when out in my rather unsavoury old jalopy.
One old boy, obviously a bit miffed that a classic Rover hadn't been polished daily and looking disdainfully at the Chevy engine, patted the bonnet, saying "Poor old thing".
If I hadn't saved it, it would probably be a new Kia now.
Or still stuck in a Cumbrian barn with over a hundred other similar grunge buckets.

Most avoid eye contact.
