'Where's my A-Z?'
'Is that the Thames?'
'When's the next one?'
'Wish I'd known I would have come'
'Should do it on a warm summer's evening'
'I've never been to this part of London before'

Well then folks, no excuses, next Wednesday evening, we leave Chelsea Bridge at 9 in the pm for a run around the big city, same route as last time (stay tuned), through the wild west end, past the rock and roll hangouts and tourist attractions and finish underneath some golden arches....

Who's coming then....?

So then, northbound @ 9pm from Chelsea Bridge and over Sloane Square (with maybe a lap), and keep going straight up to Harvey Nichols and Knightsbridge. Get in the right lane in the traffic as its West End bound! Right at the lights, then stay to the left as we're turning left at Hyde Park Corner and heading up Park Lane.

We're taking the last right turn at the traffic lights after the speeding camera into Upper Brook Street, into Mayfair past the Aston Martin showroom on the corner, and then heading past the American Embassy towards Bond Street. When you see the green sign saying Fenwick’s that's when you turn right and head south for a couple of blocks. Turn left at the Russell and Bromley shoe shop into Conduit Street and head for Regent Street.

Turn right at the lights and sit in the traffic looking at the pretty lights all the way down to Piccadilly Circus, and keep left at the bottom as its around into Shaftesbury Avenue. Keep going all the way over Charing Cross Road until the left turn after Forbidden Planet at the furniture shop into St Giles High Street, which brings you around into Denmark Street, past the 12 Bar and all the guitar shops. It's a right turn at the end, and then around and under the Crossrail roadworks, left at the lights and then the right turn immediately into Tottenham Court Road.

Now an easy bit, no sleep ‘till Camden! Pass Mornington Crescent tube and Koko then look for the Blues Kitchen on the left of Camden High Street (blue Blues Bar sign) and turn left into Delancy Street. Keep going all the way to the top and keep right as we're turning right at the green Foxtons sign, then it’s around into Camden Parkway pass the Dublin Castle and The Jazz Cafe. Straight over at the lights passing The Worlds End pub on your left, then right into Bayham Street for a few hundred yards, then right at the Kilburn sign then right again opposite the Blues Kitchen back onto Camden High Street.

Keep going in a straight line through the lights, Camden tube on the right, over the canal bridge at Camden Lock, then keep right and its round under the railway bridge past the Hawley Arms (RIP Amy) into Camden Street. Another easy bit now, keep going in a straight line all the way down, until the Kings Cross sign and the left at the traffic lights takes you into Crowndale Road, then southbound all the way down past St Pancras Station to Euston Road.

Now it's left at the lights and head east all the way. Up Pentonville Road (past The Lexington) which becomes City Road at The Angel, and eventually (keep going) you arrive at the Old Street roundabout. Keep left, then take the right fork (big Stella advert on building) into Great Eastern Street down to a red shop front saying Stirling Ackroyd, across from from Old Blue Last pub, and turn left into Curtain Street (Hoxton Pony and Paper Dress Vintage) where we’ll stop for a rest and a catch up.

Take it easy and look for The Diner as that's the right turn into Rivington Street (a bit narrow) past Cargo and then turn right at the end.

Now it's southbound all the way down to Bishopsgate and look out for Pizza Express as just after that it's left at the Woodins Shades pub into Middlesex Street, then past The Pipeline down to the right turn onto St Botolph. Easy bit now (sort of), Aldgate becomes Fenchurch Street at the left fork, then left at Marks and Spencer onto Gracechurch Street, which then goes right into Cannon Street. Keep going all the way past St Paul's Cathedral and the Thameslink station to turn left at the lights at Ludgate Hill (don’t go straight over to Fleet Street), and suddenly it's back down to the Thames!

Keep right as it's the right turn before the river, and then straight along Victoria Embankment with hopefully a quick stop for a catch up before heading on to Big Ben. Around Parliament Square (maybe a lap) and then 2nd exit into Victoria Street. Keep going past Victoria Station on your left, then over the lights and take the left fork at the green at Grosvenor Gardens to head left into Belgravia and head back to the Kings Road!

Cruise along the Kings Road (as is traditional), until the lights past The Bluebird at Beaufort Street, and then turn left to head for the river once more. It’s then straight over Battersea Bridge and around and down to the right turn onto Battersea Park Road which then becomes York Road. So finally the last and easiest part of the night, there’s the Wandsworth Roundabout, straight over and make the right into McDs where hopefully all 40+ parking spaces will soon be filled with some proper cars for once!
