sometimes when i`m halfway thru a drawing/painting i start disliking it...not too bad when i`m doing a small drawing but when its the size of this one i then have to make up my mind whether to carry on...at the end of the day its only a sheet of paper i`m wasting....this piece is another one done with the coloured pencils and is approx 24" x 34"....
heres one of it nearly done and i was still having doubts as to finishing it or not

and heres the finished article

i`ve titled it `Before The Gears Were Grabbed`.......sort of a pre drawing to Tom Fritz`s piece `Grabbin Gears`......obviously not in the same class as that though

I like it mate, again i think you have such a talent for getting that "sunny day" feel spot on. Great use of light. I'd be chuffed! Get it in a frame...they all look and feel better mounted up!

cheers scott.....still not sure about it though
tim,
i dont think its up to your usual (very) high standard, but i cant put my finger on why.
maybe it's just not as detailed as your other drawings/paintings.(i still dont know!)
please dont take offence mate.

Tim, I think that maybe what's throwing you is the composition. The big space in the bottom left makes it look a little off balance. It looks like it wants to tip to the left.
It's still a ****** nice piece though.

no offence taken chris....i think as toots has said theres probably not a lot going on and the eye does tend to get drawn to wide open bit and the bottom right.....i think the photo makes a bit of the detail disappear as well...the wheel on Jakes `34 is about the only bit i`m totally happy with....i was liking the drawing then so its very detailed.....
i used to draw on A4 cause i had an A4 scanner..then i ventured in to A3, twice the size and had to invest in an A3 scanner to get the work onto my website....now i`ve gone twice the size again to A2........anyone got an A2 scanner :)

Can you even buy them? I bet they ae mega expensive if you can. I had trouble finding an A3 one. A2 would be awesome though!

Well I've always loved Jake's car so I would be tempted to buy it!
I'm no good with the technical side of artwork....just know what I like.
very nice piece again mate...not your usual standard i have to say...prob the subject and composition rather than the skill and artistic ability ****ing better than I could ever do though so what can I really say!
