I haven't got one but am running the big (A1000?) pump continuously and have got something like 50k on it with no real issues, so i'd say why not just bypass it, even if only as a temporary measure.

Putting this into perspective - when i got my pump they didn't have the controller, thats a much more recent thing. The controller cuts the duty cycle by i think 50 % at rpm below 2k. I want to get one because i know my fuel tank gets rather warm and i had a terrible cavitation issue (at altitude) one time but that's been my only problem. We've done 800 miles in a day in 100 plus deg f, across deserts and up mountains and only ever had that one issue (and wasn't really going at the time, just messing about eyeballing a number of log cabins in the mountains), so my conclusion is that it's not really necessary.

My application is injected and it does have a bypass regulator and fuel return (obviously how the warmed up fuel is getting back to the tank). Wouldn't like to think what might happen with a non bypass regulator and that big pump deadheading - maybe that's why they invented the controller. I'm also running rubber lines throughout and have the -10 ports necked down to a mere -6 neither of which i'm sure are helping the heat situation, but hey! That pump must be kin tough!

Hope that helps!
Chris

Cheers chris, I've got a complete aeromotive setup so it should be fine, lots of people with the same problem as I'm getting on google but no specific answer other than ring Brett at aeromotive who isn't in yet. I'm pretty sure it's a setup problem but the instructions are pretty poor, I have a red led on the controller that is lit and is labelled STALL but no reference to it in the instructions at all ? I'm assuming it lights when the pump has stalled but not completely sure.
Im trying not to override it at the moment as lots of people on the net with burned out units , at the price of them I would rather not have the same

Being an an old school type I should of just stuck with a big Holley pump as all this technology digital $hit is making my head hurt

Yes seen all those and more guys, thanks for looking, been onto Brett at Aeromotive and he checked my setup and went through diagnostics on the phone with me and it appears my PSC is defective, He has kindly sent me another but obviously this weekend is now scuppered
