I am looking for someone to re-wire my car. I did have a party lined up in the Fens to do the work but unfortunately his main work has increased greatly so he can no longer do any outside work, just hasn't got the time anymore. Locationwise I'm on the Surrey/Sussex border and my car is going away for spraying in the next month so I would be looking for the work to take place around early Summertime but I have no time constraints. I just need a good guy to carry out the work. If any body might know of anyone suitable I would be very pleased to hear from them.

Why not have a go yourself ? I have guided complete novices through fitting our wiring kits, it's really quite easy !!!

I could re-wire the old girl, wiring doesn't faze me at all and I'm quite happy doing anything electrical. The problem is that I am just so bloody slow, I reckon it might take me about 6 months to get everything done. I recall seeing a guy doing a classic rally car in the Midlands on a visit to a rally car prep shop and he was just so fast, it was a total education on how crap I really am. So I'm still back to square one, if I have to do it I will but I'm still looking.

Just done mine with.....EZ wiring kit.

To be honest I put it off because I'm colour blind but the EZ kits are labelled every 6" and once you get every thing mounted. Its enjoyable to go through the hole process & with very few issues. Just concentrate wire by wire and before you no it your smiling.

I bought a Rebel kit off Langy, wires are marked so you where they go, & Langy was only a PM away for when I got stuck:whistle:

I'd do it again.

Righty ho, well as I'm not in a race to finish the car I'll have a go meself. I'm going to work in sectors ie lights then all switches which are remote and lastly ignition and engine. There will be some overlaps here and there but I reckon this method will keep me fairly up to speed on the job. I will definitely have everything well fused.

most kits like the rebel ones steve does come with a fuse/relay panel pre wired.

Not worth making your own loom at £139 for a 9+3 kit in my opinion, the correct colour wire will be more than that !!!, should take a novice about 3 days to install, just add terminals & switches :thumbs_up_smiley:

I've done three of these now. One was a Premier Wiring kit, one was a Pop Brown kit and the other was a Rebel kit from Steve. The Rebel kit was the easiest for the reasons mentioned above. I've got a second Rebel kit that's going in the Modified soon. I wouldn't use anything else now. I reported this on the Citroen Specials Forum and a few of the members are using them to rewire kit cars and even standard 2CVs (sorry Steve).

Timewise, costwise - it's a no brainer...
