Now I've been down the pub at lunchtime but even with the aid of alcohol I'm not really getting what the feck this is about:dunno: :dizzy: :givein:
Using the enigma code i've worked it out as wanting a chevy ii/nova, not chevy two bellhousing,
an S10, not s ten remote,
and a 153 tooth flywheel, how big would a 253 tooth flywheel be!

Correct,
1. an aluminium bell housing from a chevy II - or any non truck bell, or one with a 4 and 1/8ths hole - anything really 4 and 5/8ths
prefer the chevy II, I am a bit unsure about Chevrolet manual clutch sizes, simply guessing that the smaller 153 toothen flywheels warrant a smaller diameter clutch, thus guessing they are 10.4'' versions - so I know - or think that's the way to go,
2. I'll take a chevy pattern t4 or t5 case - i.e. one with the chevy ears as apposed to the ford/tvr style
3. that said I'd then need an input shaft from a chevy too -
4. more importantly a remote or tail housing from a s10 or a blazer or a astro van, that's neither 4wd - or from a 4 speed 1985/6 as they don't have the bump for the fifth.
so this now becomes a tech question - are all chebvy manual flywheels created equal?
i.e. even if its from a v6 do they share the same front damper/ balance.
do they all mount the same.
will take a 4 speed gm trans from a 85/6 4 speed blazer though.
oh and a freelander hydraulic clutch release bearing or throw out bearing - an old scrap one .
basicall what manual cheeby/ t5 giblets do you have.
Hate to upset you Nobler but i imported a used chevy ii factory bellhousing with the 7 o'clock clutch fork position and sold it on a couple of years ago, nothing wrong with it but i sold it on as they're a real thin casting and i value my feet should the flywheel let go,
yes, that bellhousing only takes a 153 flywheel which takes a 10.4/10.5" clutch, there is 153 flywheels that take the 11" clutch but it may foul on the small bellhousing.

As for the flywheel, just like flexplates the 400 version is externally balanced and post-86/one piece seal engines use a flywheel with a smaller bolt circle to suit the crank.

You cant beat a good doodah and a wiggly bit to make it clearer.

that's what I was on about with the 7 o'clock wiggley bit, as It appears the window is there but blanked for rhd.
BUT IF you say its a thin one, I'll stick to the more common
385 8403 or the other one. - run a hydraulic bearing from a freelander or something like that snack the lines back.
I think I'll buy the trans first - as you never know the bore / release bearing bolty diameter
I am getting my head around it though.
also, now I can understand the 1 pc seal crank differences - as I didn't know that.
so prey tell, any chevy - i.e. v6 flywheel post 1986 - for example a s10 trucks flywheel will fit a vortec 305/350 crank?
do they use a later style pressure plate?
is there balance issues?

well I bought one of them I think for the 10.4
the center bore I think is 4 1/8''
just have to get a bearing guide tube that fits it I suppose?
so, all I need now is a vortec 305/ 1pc seal cranked engine, late style flywheel 165 teeth not 153 - external balance
so I can then use all the later clutch parts?
just keep it stock Camaro for T5
run a hydraulic bearing
ha ha ha
I bought the only one with a small hole, so it won't fit!!!
