in looking for a torque converter flex plate cover for a power glide gearbox. I've been told to stay away from them chromed blingy one's. so a stock black gm one is what I need. new or second hand. cash waiting.

Why should you stay away from chromed blingy ones? All they do is cover that area & stop stones & dirt from getting in there but they're not sealed or anything & a chrome one is only a plain steel one that's been chromed. Ok, it's in an area where it's going to get damaged by dirt & stuff, but I can't se the reasoning behind that comment, other than it's something else to polish!!!

simple answer Maurice is they don't fit very well and need cutting and bashing around to fit. that's why I want a stock gm one if possible.

Aaahhh! Fairy Nuff!! I had to make my one fit too, but then it is an aloominum one for a TH350 that I've fitted to my TH200R4 (for which they don't make an ally one for), but being ally we could do a fair bit to it & clean it up! Besides, it's underneath & who's going to see it, only the guys I run over!!! :thumbsup2:

Im pretty sure it depends where they come from John, I have a Speedway one on my TH400 and it fitted perfectly but I have seen some foul the starter, Summit do a black plastic one and it's cheap

I've got one of the black plastic ones from Summit and the best thing to describe it is 'cheap'
