Insert image stopped working

Posted yesterday with 7 images, all OK.
Now I can choose a file, when I click upload there is a wait and eventually I go back to an empty reply box.
Any ideas what's wrong?

I've increased the storage allowance a bit..
..but you might be having trouble if the image you're trying to upload is bigger than about 4Mb.

I'd just got to the file size might be the issue.
The original pics are 12Mb+.
They had been crunched down, but not enough.
