I have a look in the Rods n Sods forum every now and again but the last time it would not accept my password. The same one that I had been using for years! I requested a new password but despite being given several new passwords none of them have worked. I have e-mailed administration but no reply. Anyone else having the same problems?

Just use the link for forgotten password, the site will email you a link to change it and you can change it that way.

If you do get back on there, user beware is the kindest way i can put it! Alot of brain deads and ex lax power brigade seem to have overrun the place! Shame, as there are some great guys on there too!

Thanks for that Mark but that's exactly what I have been doing. Six times at least! None of the new passwords have worked. But from the comments made it looks like its not worth going in to anyway.

Mine worked on first attempt ,but I know a few people have had problems.The passwords sent are very case sensitive and secure.

the new system has very long winded password requirements. capitols, lower case, numbers etc etc. load of rubbish for a car forum but once done it's fine.

Yep :thumbs_up_smiley: just use the supplied password or change it to something you want when you are back in.

Though I don't post much on any forum's, I guess I should add I am not on fb instead.

Like wise for me,got messed about with new passwords etc,plus there does seem to be an "element" that lurk on there and stir things up....I don't bother much now...Jerry

mine worked first time, maybe luck? I don't go on it much now but I think every forum is quiet, most things seem to happen on Facebook now...

Drop Darren a pm he will sort you out, as for the " element " don,t see it myself but you can always report a post and we will soon hook them out. life,s to short and and i like both forums for the enjoyment they give back.

I don't know who Darren is. Can you pm me contact details? Thanks to everyone who has posted. Has everyone gone to Facepack now? I tried it once. It was just a lot of pictures of my nephews and nieces leering drunkenly at the camera with a drink in their hands, or pictures of people's dogs, or a picture of the pair of shoes that someone had bought, or a picture of a meal that someone was about to eat. Some people really need to get a life!

To everyone who has problems - PM me on here with your email address & I will get Darren to issue you with a new password direct to your email address - if you then have problems you can email Darren direct and he will sort it out quickly for you.

The forum is quieter now as many have had issues getting back on after a worldwide security breach over many car forums - hence the encrypted passwords now. If you guys persevere & get back on then it will be busier & any numpty posts will get lost amongst the proper car stuff.

I find there can be idiots on any forum, just ignore them and look at the good stuff. Rodsnsods isn't as bad as some naysayers would have us believe, but then my glass is half full :thumbs_up_smiley:

I was the same about Faebook, but there are 100's of hot rod related sites on there, do a search & see how mahy pop up.

Got back in to Rods & Sods last night thanks to the assistance of WeeMark and Blackpopracing. I received a password direct from administrator Darren and it worked first time. Had a look through a few threads but I haven't found any that contain dubious content so far.

You know me Mark, and I`m not getting picky here; but surely people shouldn't have to go onto another forum to get to speak to a R&S Moderator to get them registered/logged on to the R&S site. From comments on here it appears something is wrong with the R&S site that needs addressing to make it easier for both past and potential new members to get logged in etc!. Just a thought ;)...

The problem stems from the new security measures they've had to introduce after the hacking incident. Now the password needs to include upper case letters, numbers & symbols(!), I used my old user name, modified my existing password & got straight in with no problem.

The problem is Bri that many people have changed email addresses since registering.
When the site send out new passwords it sends to the registered mail address. If it's defunct then there is no way you can get a new password.
