Sad, but true. The company was put into administration a week or so before easter. Hopefully some one will buy the company and carry on producing the highly engineered "new" Stromgberg 97.
Perhaps this may not the best time to be trying to relaunch the company again and sell this product though, as the launch of the reproduction 97 from Speedway is imminent. These are believed to be a lot cheaper.

Bah it's a shame it never worked out because a lot of work went into that and from what I've read they were a good product. From many many comments on the HAMB they were too expensive so I can't help feeling that because they are made over here (I'm led to believe) the strength of the pound just put these out of reach for 95% of his market. Bad time for anything made over here selling in the US I guess.

Can't say i'm surprised really, the product was/is too expensive.

Very sad as i know how much hard work has gone into these carbs, so that we the
'Hot rodders' can have what we demand.
I have used and fitted these strombergs on various flatheads in single, duel and tripple
setups.
These ARE worth every penny, go buy a core and rebuild it to match one.
Maybe more info is needed here before the jungle beat gets carried away,
just thinking of those involved and what hard work thats gone into it.
marco.
Well as Chris ( Jazz age rodder ) is a long time friend of Eddies I doubt the information woudl be incorrect.

really sorry for both Eddie and Clive....it must have taken a tremendous commitment to get these carbs into production.I have a pair ready to go on my motor..they are a great piece of work...and as Marco said, worth every penny.I just hope the lads have not taken too big a hit.

Clive closed it down !!much to Eddies surprise !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone. While I have no intention of entering into any discussion on the rights and wrongs of this situation, I would like to make a couple of comments.
Firstly, whatever one's allegiances and friendships, it does none of us any justice to spread rumours without the full facts. Nor to attempt to damage Stromberg company goodwill going forward.
Next, I'd like to thank all those who took the time to comment on the carb's excellent performance. I believe it gives excellent value for money. But then I would!
Finally, as always, there are two sides to every story. This situation was absolutely the last resort and it was not, as some have suggested, carried on behind anyone's back. Those of you who know me personally can make up their own minds. And if anyone else would like to contact me personally about this, please feel free. I am not about to get into any slanging match on this or any forum. And this will be my last post on the subject.
Stromberg Carburetor will continue as a company. And the product is brilliant. So let's look forward to the future.
Thanks for listening.
