Turbo 350 Transmission Fluid ?

I have a 57 Chevy 350 V8 3 speed Auto and the transmission fluid needs topping up, just wondering what I should be using ? The previous owner said the transmission is a Turbo 350 but is there any way of telling for sure ? Thanks

Even though its a ford fluid type f is good . GM fluid is dexron mercon 3 .kev

Thanks for the replies, what is the difference between Dexron II and Dexron III ? As some forums I posted the same question say Dexron II, thanks
