Pre 1960 vehicles
These are exempted by statute .
Post 1960 - rolling exemption date
These need to meet VHI status and need to be legally declared as exempt by the owner.
Post 1960 - rolling exemption date non VHI
Vehicles that do not meet VHI requirements but are still within 8 points system need to be MOT'd ie Non standard engine option or non same Marque engine would have to be MOT'd
Post 1960 -rolling exemption non VHI non 8 points.
These are not entitled to MOT exemption nor are they entitled to Historic Taxation .
Please note .
VHI rules do NOT overide existing 8 points sytem re retaining identity . That is a totally seperate system.
