I recently became aware that the government (DVLA) has now got a scheme for you to register your non Road vehicles. Specifically talking about JCBs, tractors, quad bikes and off-road bikes. The idea is to be able to identify ones recovered if it's stolen. If you want more information go to DVLA and look for INF84. Now call me a cynic but two thoughts that did come to me are these. 1. In the future will insurance companies expect you to register your off-road vehicles? " sorry but if you failed to registered it we're not paying out" 2. The scheme is voluntary, how long will it be before they decide to think about making it compulsory? In that info sheet they did say you will not need a number plate, but it's an interesting thought of what the future could be? I can imagine PC ### stopping you at a racetrack saying have you registered this race car sir?
