Announcement by Stephen Cartledge.

As many of you will remember I intended to step down from my role as Legislation committee member once before, but I was persuaded to stay on. Today though I wish to announce that this November I WILL be standing down from the Committee. I am sad to make this announcement, but I have been advised to take a step back and take things easier in the future. I also have a Truck that is exceptionally long overdue.

So, I am putting out the call for someone to step up, volunteer and be nominated to take my post as Legislation. You don’t have to be a mastermind on legislation, or obsessive about law. You will however have to keep an eye out for changes in the law and how existing laws affect us. You must also be willing to speak the truth to members. We all want to live in a world where we can build a car just how we would like then jump in and drive, but truth is we must obey rules, and those rules are made by people do NOT care if the rules they make ruin our plans or do not allow the style of car we had in mind. Saying what folk want to hear does not help them in the end.

There is also the rest of the committee work such as organising the events and taking care of NSRA business. Your expenses will be paid but you won’t be having parties ok.

This is important work and the best gift you can give your club-mates and friends Without a committee there would be no Supernationals, Fun Run or Fun on the beach, No Swap meet.

If you wish to know more about what the role entails Come talk to me at the Supernationals. Nominations must be in by 6 weeks before the AGM, so that is mid-October. Nomination forms are available from Pauline (Club secretary).
