Was the reg no. UBD 703 ???
If so, according to the DVLA records, it was last on the road in 1993 and was painted Grey.

Found a pic on Timetravel's site, I remembered the plate. This is from the Knebworth Nats in '82.

It came from Norwich at one time, in fact I thought it was built there - is the chap Susie works with from those parts?
There's more pix of UBD 703 in one of Job~Rated/Stef's posts in the "some old pop pics" thread. On this top one you can see the name on the door...

Doesn't look like my axle there, not narrowed, no quick change cover, same colour though! Farm yard machinery red, lovely colour. :D

Hi
It was me!!:D I built that pop back in 1976. I bought it for £10 out of my local paper. I fitted a Sunbeam 1725 engine, viva front and Austin A60 rear. I ran it for about a year before a rebuild. I then fitted a Daimler 2.5 hemi with borg warner35 auto box, S type jag rear and beefed up viva/ventora front end. I went to quite a few rod shows with it; it was in AlexandraPalace rod & custom show in 1978 I think. I sold it to a guy in Luton in 1980; he kept it a short time and sold it on to someone in Spalding. The last time I saw it was when it was featured in 'Street machine' mag in 1986, it had then got a roof chop, new engine (Chrysler I think) and a repaint.
I have not seen or heard of it since then but would love to know if it still exists or has gone for scrap?? :(
