saw this on vintage supplies, spoke to the guy & he said he would take £2000 for it,no good for me as got to many fordsons now but was tempted.he sent me a load of pics & seems to look ok but his discription seem to say not so good.
1954 Ford Thames 5 cwt van in need of full restoration. the colour makes it look worse than it actually is as it stood in undercover and open for many years. the original paint colour was blue but this has been painted over with a maroon. the engine turns (rather too freely and i do wonder whether there is anything inside the block!), but all mechanical appears to be there, however condition is unknown, but these parts are not difficult to replace. the chassis appears to be solid. the bodywork on the left hand side is fairly solid with a decently fitting door which has one of the spare wheel brackets, with a small amount of corrosion in the area of rear wing. both rear valence corners are suspect. the right side of the vehicle which had taken the brunt of the weather, the front wing join is poor, the door gutter has dropped off (it was in van but has vanished) the upper door hinge mount point is somewhat ropey, and the whole of the roof fabric rubber area is suspect, with the right hand side being worse than the rest. the back doors are good. no wood on rear van floor.
this is far too good to break, comes as shown in picture. seeking around £2250. initial contact by e-mail or telephone 01692 650084 (working hours) or 07765505035 which is sometimes on.
can send other pictures if required showing detail of the worse areas.
